simms's birthday party

simms's birthday party

the past two years simms has known EXACTLY what theme he wanted for his birthday party. last year it was monkeys (?????????) and this year it was "an uncle scott party." i'm sure y'all are wondering "what the hell is an uncle scott party?!" well let me explain. cal's uncle (scott) and aunt hope throw a massive, i'm talking like 500+ people, crawfish boil every spring. its over in their barn and they have live music, beer trucks, low country boil, and golf cart rides (to get to wherever you parked your car haha.) whenever we have family events, they're also usually at scott and hope's house. they are the king and queen of party hosting! so i can't blame him for wanting an "uncle scott party"...

so i asked him what all he wanted at the party and the list was: a beer truck, crawfish, donuts, cake, a horse, a firetruck, cowboy boots, swimming, all with moon taxi playing the party. this kid thought he was having a mtv super sweet 16 party i guess! hahah! he facetimed "uncle" wes and begged for moon taxi to play the party. wes told him they couldn't because he would be in europe. when you ask simms what uncle wes said about playing the party he simply says "he said no" :| we ended up coming up with a happy medium for the party. a cowboy pool party at uncle scott and aunt hope's house, complete with a golf cart ride.

i started showing simms pictures of cowboy cakes online and he told me he would work really hard to make money to pay for it. if you thought i was not going to ride this out, you're crazy. he did chores every single day to help pay for the AMAZING cake by connie at sugar buzz bakers. she does the best job at making my visions of a cake come to life, while still tasting ridiculously good. if you are familiar with knoxville, she does them out of her home in sequoyah hills! i also wanted to do cookies because the twins aren't big cake eaters. we used kj cookies, another local baker (she actually also ships!) the cookies were divine y'all!!!! i might actually just use her and do cookies for the twins birthday next month. like connie, she also does an amazing job at making beautiful but great tasting cookies!

thanks so much to everyone that came to celebrate my big boy! he had a great time and loved seeing all his favorite people! it takes a village and y'all are one hell of one! and another big thanks to scott and hope for hosting it at their house! also thanks to amazon prime for helping me order 90% of the decor from my couch.
